26 Days until the Spartan Sprint

26 days to go!

I've been feeling pretty confident about this upcoming race. Doing burpees, not so much. I'll just keep believing that I will complete the obstacles with minimal burpees penalties!!!

Last week I continued my workouts, and added a few mountain trail run/hikes.

Sunday morning was our team training day - it was a freezing cold, 27 degrees that morning with ice crystals in the grass... but we were out there getting it done!

We did 4 rounds of the following:

1/3 mile run
Tire flips
slosh pipe carries
sand bag carries
med ball throws

It was awesome.

Here's another fun Spartan Video from another race in Texas

33 Days until the Spartan Sprint

33 days left until I do this thing... I have spent a lot of time looking up videos from other races, other cities, other racers...and I will admit that I've had a couple moments of "holy crap, what did I sign up for?". But then it passes and I'm all amped up again!

Yesterday was Monday, and typically, Monday's are my rest days. Yesterday was no different.

35 Days to the Spartan Sprint!

And so begins Day 1 of 35 days remaining until the Spartan Sprint on February 10, 2013 in Chandler, AZ!

WHAT IS THE SPARTAN SPRINT? Check it out here ====> Spartan Race

**note** I am doing the 5k sprint ***

First of all, let me begin by saying - I honestly feel like this is something I have been training for already. People ask me all the time what my goals are in the fitness arena, and for the first time, I feel like I finally have one. Don't get me wrong: I still have the original "goals"... feel good, be healthy, get strong, get a pullup, look good... but this feels different. And I am SUPER excited about it. I will be talking about it. A lot. So be ready. Walk away if you must.

What is this blog for? I'm going to post my workouts, feelings, thoughts, etc that are related to the upcoming event. Probably fashion stuff, too: Shoes, socks, headbands... you know.

So, here it is:

DAY 1 training:
Went over to my friend's house this morning for our first team workout.

We did 3 circuits of the following:

1/3 mile run
15-20 med-ball slams
5 box jumps
3 rope climbs
amrap dips

That's it for day 1.

Stay tuned, my friends.
